Description

A delicious combination of roast beef and Swiss cheese on crispy Texas toast, served with warm beef broth for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices Texas toast
  • 1 pound roast beef, sliced thin
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and Pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat the beef broth in a saucepan over low heat. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to enhance the flavor and keep warm.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add Texas toast slices and toast until golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Place slices of roast beef on four pieces of toasted bread and top each with a slice of Swiss cheese.
  4. Cover with the remaining four slices of toast and carefully flip each sandwich in the skillet to melt the cheese, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Slice sandwiches into halves or quarters and serve hot with warm beef broth on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • This recipe works well with halal beef or turkey as substitutes for the roast beef.
  • To ensure even melting of the cheese, cover the skillet with a lid while cooking.
