Description

A delicious bourbon chicken recipe that combines the flavors of soy sauce, ginger, and garlic.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients: chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces and finely mince the garlic and ginger.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, bourbon, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Marinate the chicken in the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; add marinated chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  5. Add garlic and ginger during the last minute of cooking until fragrant.
  6. Pour remaining marinade into the skillet and simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Notes

  • This recipe can be adjusted for spiciness by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
  • Serve over rice for a complete meal.
